The Fed

The federal reserve is a detriment to our country. They control the flow of money in a negative way. The fed is 12 banks that controls how much money we spend. They are their own thing and no one oversees them. We are in a lot of debt because of the fed, they are the highest spenders. We don't elect these people so these private bankers are scamming everyone. The people who are rich, are happy. The people who are poor, just become more in trouble with debt. They began already printing too much money, causing the value of the dollar to go down, which means they need to create "tight money" making it harder to get until the value increases. It is now more than impossible to pay back the debt the feds have created. Ever since the fed was created, the value of the dollar has decreased by 95 percent.

The graph shows inflation since the fed was created.
The president isn't even the one to blame, they don't create high interest rates or lower them. The economy is apart of this cycle that is never going away. They do whatever they want, when they want. Interest rates can skyrocket over night making it almost impossible to do something about it. Us people have no say in what happens to our money or what the feds are doing. It is an unfair situation no one has control over anymore.

Net Neutrality

Net Neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites. The FCC controls the neutrality by the Open Internet rules that were made to protect the nation's broadband network. So companys can't favor one thing over another. Everything is free and you are not blocked from certain things. It is very good for corporations and consumers because it gives people a chance to grow and expand without something else blocking from doing things. A consumer now has more choices instead of being limited.

Business Cycles, Recessions, and Depressions

It is very tough for economists to predict the business cycle because "The future is inherently uncertain, so these decisions often depend as much on gut feelings as cold acusations" (2 IP). It depends on how much money people are willing to spend and keep the economy flowing. "Every business expansion eventually dies. Only the cause of death changes" (4 IP). They all know a business is going to peek for money but when it is going to crash and fail is unpredictable. There is always popularity in an item but how long it's going to be popular is unknown. Then the economists "vaccinated everyone against whatever killed the last business cycle, they fail to spot the virus that infects the current one" (4 IP).
A recession is when "they conclude there has been 'a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months'" (4 IP). Back then, a depression is what we now call a recession. "A recession is when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours" Harry Truman said. It only becomes a depression when it lasts more than three years.
A bull market is when share prices are rising and encouraging buying to get the economy back up. When prices are falling and they are encouraging people to sell things, that is a bear market. Both things are trying to get money flowing into the economy. Between 2006 and 2011, house prices dropped 32 precent leaving people paying mortgages that are worth more than their house is worth. In 1973 and 1990, oil prices spiked. In 2001, technology investments crashed.

Spoils System vs. Merit System

In the federal bureaucracy today, we follow the merit system. This system was introduced in 1881 after the assassination of President Garfield. Congress passed The Pendleton Act, which created a merit-based federal civil service. The purpose of this was to replace patronages from the spoils system and create federal employment based on an exam that 85-90% of federal employees take today. Before this system, Andrew Jackson followed the spoils system. This system gave the president power to clear out all government workers and replace them with people from their own party. During this time, Jackson thought this was a healthy way to prevent corruption. As the country expanded and the Civil War began, thousands of government jobs became available. This led to economic growth and more government agencies to regulate the system after the war.

Cell Phone

I do not think it is a good idea for the police to be able to search your cellphone without a warrant. A search warrant protects a persons right to privacy and should still be necessary in cases where it could save lives or bring justice to criminals. I agree with the Supreme Court's ruling because they realized the digital information is not the same as information on a piece of paper. A person's cell phone is their own personal property that should be handled the same way as a person's house by the police. The police have to wait for a search warrant to enter a home even when it could save lives or bring justice to criminals. The main purpose of the fourth amendment is to protect one's privacy to make them feel safe and secure. Without a warrant, the person will most likely feel violated and the information and any evidence found could be disregarded in the case. Because life has changed so drastically through the centuries, the supreme court will learn how the changes have affected a person's everyday life. I think it is a good thing that the courts are trying to apply the basic rights in the constitution to life in the 21st century. As long as the world is changing, the court system should always keep up.

Electoral College

The electoral college is made up of 538 electors who cast votes to decide the president and the vice-president of the United States. The 538 electors are the sum of the nation's 435 representatives, 100 senators, and 3 electors for the District of Columbia. These electors are nominated at state conventions. The electors are usually state-elected officials, party leaders, or people with a strong affiliation with the Presidential candidates. This is the best way to vote for the president and vice-president. It's half way based off popular vote. Most of the time, the electors vote what was most popular in that state.
The electoral college system makes it a distribution of popular votes to get a president elected. This also maintains a federal system of government and representation.

Drone carrying drugs crashes lmfao

A drone that had six pounds of crystal meth crashed after coming from Mexico on Wednesday. This drone crashed on the border of the U.S in San Ysidro, California. "Once you get it across the border, that stuff's like gold." The issue at hand here is that they're not using underground tunnels anymore, they're now using the "unmanned aerial vehicle." They want to stop this immediately. The drone could no longer hold the six pounds of the synthetic drugs and crashed into a supermarket parking lot.
My opinion is each package going into a drone should be measured before going into the sky. what if it dropped on an Asian baby in the middle of a supermarket parking lot. A lot of people would be sued. They need to make sure every drone is safe to fly in the air. This drone could have been a test run for more possible things to come. They need to start checking inside of packages also before crossing the border. These drones need to be used for more productive things than drugs.
